Colts Confidence, Frank Reich and Carson Wentz

The last time Frank Reich and Carson Wentz were on the same team, the result was a Super Bowl Championship.

The Get Back

Following the devastating last-second loss to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wildcard match-up last year, the Colts had to take a step back and re-evaluate future options. This off-season, Indianapolis traded two draft picks for former Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles QB, Carson Wentz.

To improve on defense, with the 21st pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Colts drafted the massive 6’2, 270-pound DE Kwity Paye out of Michigan. Paye should have an immediate impact on the team which allowed only 22.9 ppg last season on average.

Colts Schedule Released

Analysts are saying that Indianapolis has one of the easier schedules in the NFL via. the May 12th release. With most of the 2020 team returning and new draft picks filling up any open spots, a strong playoff run could be in the cards. The largest deciding factor is whether or not QB Wentz is able to perform on his new team. Between newly drafted TE Kylen Gransen, rising talent WR Michael Pittman, and one more year of veteran WR T.Y. Hilton, Wentz will have plenty of offensive weapons.

While the Colts get some easier matchups against the Jets, Jaguars, Dolphins, and Texans, they will need to fight in the trenches against the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers, Lamar Jackson’s Ravens, and a rematch against the team that sent them home last January, the Bills.

This team looked good last year and if they can win some of the more competitive games this season, they'll have a chance at holding up a Lombardi trophy at the end of the Season.
