Colts' hold off the Packers, sweep NFC North

Game Story


1st Half

  • Both teams' first possessions ended in fumble recoveries for the defense

  • Midway through the first, Aaron Rodgers connects with Robert Tonyan for the 25-yard score (7-0 Packers)

  • Next drive, Philip Rivers finds USC rookie Michael Pittman Jr. who runs the score in from 45 yards out (7-7)

  • Rodgers is picked off by Rock Ya-Sin at the Packers' 35 to end the first quarter, but Indianapolis is unable to convert on a 50 yard field goal

  • Halfway through the second, Rodgers finds Equanimeous St. Brown for the 23 yard pickup to set up Aaron Jones' two yard score (14-7 Packers)

  • Rivers is picked off by Christian Kirksey at the Colts' 37, before Davante Adams runs in for the five yard score (21-7)

  • Within the two minute mark, Rivers finds Trey Burton for the 17 yard score (21-14)

  • A Colts' pass interference call, put the Packers at first-and-goal, where Jamaal Williams found the end zone from four yards out to double the score(28-14 HALF)

2nd Half

  • A tough Packers' defense forces the Colts' Georgia rookie Rodrigo Blankenship to kicks a 37 yard field goal to put the Colts within 11 (28-17)

  • After a successful 4th down conversion, Rivers finds WR T.Y. Hilton for the 23 yard pickup to set up the 1st and goal.

  • Two minutes left in the third, Jack Doyle walk in for the six yard score and a successful 2-pt conversion by Nyheim Hines to make it a three point game (28-25)

  • Blankenship ties it up at 28 with a 32 yard field goal (28-28)

  • Packers fumble on the kick return, putting the Colts' at Green Bay's 22

  • Indianapolis takes the lead with a 43 yard field goal (31-28 Colts)

  • 3:11 left, Rodgers' pass to Williams is incomplete on fourth down, Rivers and Co. get the ball at midfield

  • Rodgers completes the 47 yard pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling with 1:17 left

  • Mason Crosby's 26 yard kick sends the game into overtime (31-31)




Overtime

  • Packers got the ball 1st, but fumbled and lost the ball! Blankenship's 39-yard field goal seals the deal for Indianapolis (34-31 Colts FINAL)
