Fantasy: A Look ahead to week 2

Let’s talk about quarterbacks. Is Baker a Bust? Andy Dalton is for real, for real! Mahomes and crew are back at it again. If you were like me and had Sammy Watkins stashed away on your bench in week 1, with hopes of Tyreek Hill putting up big numbers just like last year, then you missed out on Watkins’ big game after Hill exited the game with a clavicle injury. With that being said, it just goes to show that it doesn’t matter who Patrick Mahomes decides to no look pass to, he will continue to impress with his arm and continue to put up big numbers. Mahomes is listed as questionable but will no doubt be ready to go this week at Jacksonville. Did you put in your waiver claim for Andy Dalton yet? Dalton put up big numbers against a revamped, with the addition of Jadaveon Clowney, and stingy Seahawks defense last week. Setting a franchise record with 418 pass yards, Dalton could put up similar numbers against a lack luster 49er defense this week. Dalton is rostered in only 4.9% of leagues at the moment. As a proven QB1, that number will rise after the claims are in. I know I put one in for him.

If you were high on Baker Mayfield don’t worry, so was everyone else. With Baker putting up only 9.4 points in PPR leagues to go along with his 3 interceptions, it’s hard not to wonder what happened. Baker and the Browns started off the game sharp with an 8 play 73-yard drive to get the Browns on the board first. But after that it was all downhill. It is a strong possibility that Bakers wrist played a factor. That, or it was a case of the Browns just being the Browns. But don’t get to down on Baker just yet. With his quick feet and ability to see the field, Baker will still get QB1 numbers game in and game out. A Monday night match-up against the Jets will give him another chance to show what he’s got. Remain optimistic, because week one was just a warm-up.
