The Los Angeles Rams will travel to Lambeau field to face the Green Bay Saturday afternoon as the high seeded Packers hope to avoid an early postseason upset.
Jalen Ramsey vs. Davante Adams
NFL fans have talked all week about the matchup between Rams DB Jalen Ramsey and Packers WR Davante Adams. Adams has been on an offensive terror all year, his NFL Madden rating peaking at 99 OVR. Adams registered 18 TD's, 115 catches, and 1374 yards. However, Adams' list of stats is likely no intimidation for Jalen Ramsey who simply passes the eye test on defense. Ramsey made it a tough outing for WR D.K Metcalf in the Wild Card round and he'll likely do the same against Adams.
Jared goff's Broken Thumb
Although Jared Goff managed to find Robert Woods in the end-zone towards the end of the game last week, his overall performance against the Seahawks was terrible. Goff is clearly inhibited by his broken thumb and if he happens to throw an INT in this game against Green Bay it may sway the momentum severely in the favor of the Packers. Head Coach Sean McVay may want to stick with a heavy dosage of Akers to keep Rodgers and company on the sideline
Green Bay is the obvious favorite in this match-up and for very clear reasons. While QB Aaron Rodgers doesn't have the escape ability that Russell Wilson does, he happens to have HB Aaron Jones lined up in the backfield. Jones must be effective on the ground if the Packers want to nullify the Rams pass rush. This won't be an easy task given that the Rams have the #1 rushing defense in the NFL.
If things balance themselves out, the Packers will be able to put up around 24 points in the contest. If they happen to score less, DB Jaire Alexander, Amos, or someone on the Packers defense will need to force a turnover. Packers fans don't want to think about it, but the Rams can defeat the cheeseheads if they execute a solid game plan. My intuition tells me that Rodgers may be sacked 2-3 times in this match-up. We'll see how it pans out.
