Rodgers' huge day secures NFC North Title


  • Matt Stafford was sacked on back to back plays in the 2nd quarter

  • Green Bay dominates 3rd quarter with more than 12 min of T.O.P (Time of possesion)

  • Mason Crosby's 58-yard FG, tying his career record, pushed the lead to two scores

  • Lions unable to recover the onside kick to give them a last minute possession

Game storyline

First Half

  • First drive, Matt Stafford finds Mohamed Sanu Sr. for the 21 yard pickup, before a 15-yard gain by Danny Amendola to set Detroit at the one yard line. T.J. Hockenson drives in for the score, to put the Lions ahead (7-0 Detroit)

  • A quick strike from Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams puts the Packers on the board after the 56 yard score (7-7)

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling, open in the end zone, receives Rodgers' 15 yard pass for the score (14-7 Green Bay)

  • Adrian Peterson picks ups a 23-yard gain before D'Andre Swift runs in the one-yard score, with 1:27 left (14-14 Half)

  • Detroit's defense gets a major fourth down stop to get one more shot at the end zone in the half, but are unable to convert

Second Half

  • The Packers were able to drive to the six yard line, before Rodgers ran in his second rushing TD of the season, to put the Pack on top (21-14 Green Bay)

  • HB Robert Tonyan runs in the four yard score (28-14)

  • Detroit's challenge on a Marvin Jones Jr. touchdown, is ruled incomplete with 8:30 left. Same drive, Kerryon Johnson scores a two yard TD, to put Detroit within a score (28-21)

  • Adams picks up 29 yards to put the Pack at Detroit's 35, and Green Bay settles for a 58 yard field goal (31-21)

  • 3:30: Stafford sits out the next drive due to a rib injury, but Chase Daniels had a short field after Jamal Agnew's 71 yard punt return to the Packers' 33 yard line

  • 2:03 Chase Daniels' four yard score comes back after an offensive hold and come away with a 32 yard field goal (31-24 FINAL)

  • The Lions attempt their first on-side kick, but are unable to recover and the Packers hold on to become the NFC North Champions


Green Bay

  • Aaron Rodgers: 26/33 for 290 yards for three TDs (and one rushing)

  • Aaron Jones: 15 carries for 69 yards

  • Davante Adams: seven receptions for 115 yards and one TD


  • Matt Stafford: 24/34 for 244 yards for one TD

  • D'Andre Swift: seven carries for 24 yards for one TD

  • Danny Amendola: six receptions for 66 yards
