Steelers survive Titans on the road

Even after throwing 3 INT's in Nashville, Big Ben and the Steelers remain undefeated.

  • Steelers take advantage of Titans slow start, dominate the 1st half

  • Tennessee came to life after A.J. Brown's 73 yard touchdown in the third quarter

  • Titans had ten unanswered points in second half

  • Derrick Henry's patience pays off in the fourth quarter after being stuffed in the first three-too little, too late for Tennessee.

Game Story

First Half

  • Halfway through first quarter, Pittsburgh marched 64 yards before Ben Roethlisberger finds Diontae Johnson from 11 yards out (7-0 Steelers)

  • JuJu Smith-Schuster's 21 yard reception set up Benny Snell's one yard score to push the lead to two scores (14-0)

  • Midway through second quarter, Ryan Tannehill somehow finds Adam Humphries for the 19 yard acrobatic catch to put Tennessee in the red zone. Corey Davis runs in the four yard score to put Tennessee on the board (14-7)

  • Steelers cash in a 38 yard field goal after struggling against the Titans' defense (17-7)

  • Ray Ray McCloud returns a 59 yard punt for 57 yards, setting Johnson up for his second score of the game, this one from nine yards out (24-7)

  • Final play of the half, Roethlisberger's Hail Mary attempt is picked off in the end zone by Dane Cruikshank before Pittsburgh's special team gets the stop as the clock runs out. (24-7 HALF)

Second Half

  • Ten minutes left in the third quarter, Titans' defense tightens up, forcing the Steelers to settle for a 30 yard field goal (27-7)

  • Tannehill's lob to A.J. Brown for the 73 yard score, gives the Titans a spark (27-14)

  • Roethlisberger's pass intended for Diontae Johnson is tipped and picked off by Jayon Brown. Stephen Gostkowski's 51 year field goal pushes Tennessee within ten (27-17)

  • Tannehill connects with Brown for a 20 yard pickup. Derrick Henry scores with the one yard touchdown, Titans within three (27-24)

  • Roethlisberger is picked off in the end zone for the 2nd time, this time by Amani Hooker with 2:40 left.

  • Gostkowski misses the 45 yard field (27-24 FINAL)
